Orientation

Orientation is our way of welcoming you to the Cornell University military family.  During orientation, you will get to know your Veteran Support Team, the campus, your fellow student veterans and other military students.

New Student Orientation (NSO)

Begin your Cornell journey with New Student Orientation (NSO), designed to ease your transition to college life. During orientation, you'll connect with fellow students, meet academic advisors, explore campus resources, and immerse yourself in Cornell traditions—all while discovering what makes our Big Red community so special. Learn more about NSO!

Military Student Orientation Session

In order to serve our incoming student veterans, military-affiliated students and families, the Military Student Orientation session will provide an introduction to our Veterans Support Team staff, work/study students and your Student Veteran Ambassadors; a brief informational session to better acquaint you with key services (like Financial Aid, Bursar, School Certifying Officials (GI Bill), and more); and a sit-down lunch with the veteran and military community at Cornell. This session will take place during NSO.

Tatkon Center for New Students

The Tatkon Center for New Students is a resource center to support all new students during their transition to Cornell University and through their first year. In addition to hosting NSO, the Tatkon Center provides robust programs designed to inspire students and guide them through a transformational college experience.

Housing

Cornell University has housing options whether you want to live on or off campus. Because student veterans are not required to reside in on campus housing, we encourage you to explore all of your options.
